Marcia Beck’s enthusiasm for the salon industry started more than twenty-three years ago, when she took her first job as a junior stylist. She thrilled to see the delight on her clients’ faces when their hair was finished and their inner beauty came shining through. The next nine years were dedicated to developing her craft in San Diego’s competitive market while taking every opportunity to hone and perfect her skills.
A move to the natural beauty of California’s Central Coast inspired within Marcia a fresh commitment to environmental responsibility. By then, she was the owner of the successful salon, Honey, in Morro Bay. And while it was known for being a creative and stylish place, Marcia wanted more from the experience for herself, her colleagues and her clientele. She began to research non-toxic methods that didn’t rely on harsh chemicals and spent years planning for a whole new kind of salon that would align her ideals with her passion for hair. The result: Hive Natural Beauty Collective.
Marcia takes a great deal of pride in introducing San Luis Obispo county to its first Certified Eco-Friendly Salon. She still feels that thrill when she sees her clients’ faces light up with the confidence and joy that comes from the perfect hair design–but NOW, she also the meaningful satisfaction of knowing she provided a great service in the healthiest way possible.
Kelsey Tikker

For the past seven years, Kelsey Tikker’s focus has been on helping clients find fashionable, modern styles that are easily managed at home. Conscientious of busy schedules and demands on her clients’ time, she strives to solve challenging hair issues with great haircuts that require a minimum of effort and only a short list of styling products—if any—to reproduce the look for every day.
Kelsey’s message of sophisticated simplicity* has evolved to a whole new level since joining the team at Hive. She is able to utilize the non-toxic product collection to reinforce the idea of natural, uncomplicated styles that are her signature.
*If you need a special occasion look, Kelsey is also known for glorious, natural-looking up-do’s, perfect for the bride, prom, or a hot date.
Monica Ziessler

Monica Ziessler is just one of those people who sees beauty in everyone. Known for her genuine kindness, Monica combines her love for people with her knowledge and passion for hair to create unique styles inspired by her clients’ own natural beauty. In fact, nothing gives her greater professional pleasure than to know that every person she encountered in her day, felt comfortable, well-looked after and left the salon feeling as gorgeous as she sees them.
Since beginning her career, it has been Monica’s intent to work for an ethical, environmentally conscious salon. She was finally able to achieve that goal as a founding member of Hive Natural Beauty Collective, where she is thrilled to show her clients the benefits of safe, green beauty.
Lindsey Estrada

Lindsey started her career 5 years ago in San Diego where she attended countless cutting and coloring classes to really hone her skills. Furthering her education and staying ahead of the curve on trends is an important part of what makes Lindsey unique. Her passion is creating and enhancing your individual style, whether it be beachy waves, a polished bob or anything in between. Lindsey is eager to bring a collective vision to life.

Dean Covell Harrington

Dean’s passion for cutting and coloring hair led him to cosmetology school at the age of 19. 25 years later he still posesses the same amount of love and dedication to the industry as he did back then. His core training and years of work experience at Toni & Guy in Dallas allowed him to work side by side with the best and helped mold him into the artist he is today.
Dean is known by his clients to take his time, to listen , ask questions, be realistic and creative. He is constantly attending classes and seminars and believes that continuing education and outstanding customer service is the key to success. Dean is always keeping up to date with the latest collections and then he personalizes those ideas to compliment a guests’ face shape, hair color and texture.
Out of the salon you can most likely find Dean walking a stretch of beach, hiking a trail, camping in Big Sur or boarding a plane to a foreign country exploring new horizons.
Teréz Autrand
Stylist
Teréz has extensive experience. She is Sassoon-trained and has worked in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and most recently in the trendy Rockridge area of Oakland.
She specializes in fine hair, which she fully understands the challenges of, and “foiling”, adding depth and sophistication to blondes, and variegation to redheads and brunettes. Although she keeps current of trends, she prefers to help you develop your own style.
Terez considers her work as an art and has always leaned toward a healthy lifestyle of raw food, yoga and alternative healing. Hive is the perfect venue to merge those qualities. She has been working with no ammonia hair color since 2009.
Lisa Ponce
Stylist
Lisa specializes in cuts, color, wedding & special events styling as well as hair extensions. With her artistic vision and precise attention to detail she achieves looks for each client’s unique needs. Lisa personalizes each cut, color, style & extensions to draw out each & every client’s individual beauty.
Lisa keeps up on the latest styles & techniques in the ever-changing styling world. Traveling extensively from New York to L.A. she studies & improves her skills by taking classes on an ongoing basis. Teaming up with a Hollywood hairstylist & makeup artist, whose work is seen regularly in T.V. & advertising campaigns all over, Lisa broadens her styling range for the needs of her ever-growing clientele.
It is Lisa’s goal to make each client feel comfortable & relaxed from start to finish & of course you will ALWAYS walk away from her chair looking & feeling your very best!
Johanna Palt
Certified Massage Therapist
Johanna is a Massage Practitioner who received her education at the California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo. She specializes is Deep Tissue and Swedish massage and practices Level 1 Reiki. Johanna believes that healing comes from the mind just as much as the body and incorporates her knowledge of energy work into her massage to give a complete healing experience. Her passion is to help you feel lighter and at peace when you head back out into your life.
Naomi Camille Thomas
Esthetician & Certified Massage Therapist
Naomi Thomas is a Central Coast native who has studied locally and internationally. She has over 1000 hours of massage education, an esthetic license, and advanced training in skin care techniques as well as traditional Thai skin and body treatments. She has a passion and desire to be of service and to support her clients’ on the path to optimal health in mind, body and soul.
At Hive, Naomi will feature Eminence, the original leader in organic skin care. She also offers organic waxing, spa treatments and body work. Each session is a unique blend of east and west styles to create a personal treatment that is intuitive and sculpts the body with love.
